About the event
he CLEPA General Assembly was held on June 13-14 and gathered over 100 participants representing 11 national associations and 80 corporate and associate members.
The assembly was opened by Mr. Matthias Zink, CEO of Automotive Technologies at Schaeffler and President of CLEPA, who emphasized the industry's key role in transforming European mobility and the challenges and opportunities posed by the transitional period.
This year's Assembly was organized in conjunction with the Association of Automotive Parts Distributors and Manufacturers (SDCM). Mr. Tomasz Benben, President of the Board of SDCM, stated: "Over the past 30 years, Poland has become one of the world leaders in the production of auto parts." “What’s more, our position in the global market has been growing year by year, and we are already the seventh largest exporter of automotive parts and components”.
Poland employs 330,000 people in the automotive industry and is the 7th largest exporter of automotive components in the world. The Polish automobile industry is one of the most important manufacturing industries in Poland, to which 11.1 % of the total cost of production of the country. After more than 30 years, Poland is undoubtedly approaching the level of development of the world's largest economies and the auto industry has played a positive role in this development.
Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Cluster leader of the export alliance Olga Trofymova was invited to speak at a panel discussion and share stories of sustainable Ukrainian business. During her report, she stressed the need to open new automobile companies in Ukraine and incorporate them into supply chains.
A pitch session was followed by a panel discussion. Polish companies and 3 uamc participants were invited to make a pitch. After the open vote, the winner of the mini-contest became the Ukrainian start-up Me Go Electric. Congratulations to the winners!
During the networking, more than 30 meetings were held with heads of businesses and associations and agreements were received for the organization of matchmaking events and individual meetings with those responsible for the purchase of automotive components.
We continue to internationalize participants of the export alliance UAMC supported by Програма USAID «Конкурентоспроможна економіка України» and support the economy of Ukraine.
